The (Scattered) Hebrews: Tribe of Simeon
Note: It is recommended to read the House of Israel and Levi before reading this article
In ancient Canaan where Jacob and his sons lived, Dinah, Jacob’s daughter was raped by an African Prince of the Hivites. This Prince Shechem strongly lusted for Dinah and attempted to have his father King Hamor arrange a marriage between him and the Israelite daughter. After the sons of Jacob heard what happened to their sister, they were enraged and lied to King Hamor and his son telling them if the Hivite men were circumcised, that the Prince could then marry their sister Dinah. The Hivite city agreed to this and were happy to bind their families with the Hebrew Israelites through the marriage. However Levi and Simeon both took their swords, came into the Hivite city on the 3rd day from when the Hivites were still sore from their circumcision and slaughtered all the males in the city because of what the Prince had done to their sister. This put the entire Hebrew Israelite family at risk among the rest of the Canaanites and Jacob was angry with them. This is what Jacob had to say about these two sons:
5 “Simeon and Levi are brothers;
Instruments of cruelty are in their dwelling place.
6 Let not my soul enter their council;
Let not my honor be united to their assembly;
For in their anger they slew a man,
And in their self-will they hamstrung an ox.
7 Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce;
And their wrath, for it is cruel!
I will divide them in Jacob
And scatter them in Israel.
-Genesis 49:5–7
Here Jacob mentions that Simeon (2nd son of Jacob) and Levi are brothers but all of his sons were brothers and their mother Leah birthed 7 of Jacob’s children (including Dinah) so all those 7 were full blooded siblings. Jacob singles out Simeon and Levi because those tribes would become close in physical connection in the Americas but still divided because of their sin in murdering all those Hivite men for the rape of their sister. This is exactly what we see even still today between Haiti (Levi) and the Dominican Republic (Simeon) and we know that Levi was scattered throughout Israel already from my previous article. The curse of Jacob between these brothers is why there has been a bitter division between these indigenous American Simeonites and the Levites of Haiti.
When the Spaniards eventually “found” the Island, Christopher Columbus named the Island Hispaniola, it was also known as Santo Domingo. The Taino Natives however called it Quisqueya. The name Quisqueya is believed to mean “the mother of all lands” and has associations linked to Hebrew just as the Native language of the Island was considered to be corrupt Hebrew.
So we have more consistency that within the Americas and again here in the Caribbean, the Native language is linked to Hebrew. Many Jewish customs of the Natives outside the powerful Kingdoms among the interior of the Americas were recognized and spoken of often regarding the origin of Native Americans.
So with all these references of early European writings about Native Americans being Hebrews, it interested me that so many were aware of Apocryphal writings such as 2 Esdras which is not common knowledge today. I was surprised to find out that the King James Bible published in 1611 AD had the Apocryphal books within it. They were removed 274 years later in 1885 AD from the King James version of the Bible. This is why some of the apocryphal passages were fairly known during the times of these author’s writings as opposed to today. The apocryphal books were still being studied back then instead of being hidden away as they are in the Western hemisphere of the world. It is also important to remember that the apocrypha is only taboo depending on where you live, there are other parts of the world that consider apocryphal books divine and equal as canon.
It is also worth noting that in Jeremiah, he gives a detailed prophecy regarding the daughter of Babylon and Israel being captive within her:
33 Thus says the Lord of hosts:
“The children of Israel were oppressed,
Along with the children of Judah;
All who took them captive have held them fast;
They have refused to let them go.
34 Their Redeemer is strong;
The Lord of hosts is His name.
He will thoroughly plead their case,
That He may give rest to the land,
And disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.-Jeremiah 50:33, 34
So we know that he is speaking about a captivity to come because the Northern Kingdom had already escaped Assyria. Jeremiah is speaking of a time when both the House of Israel and the House of Judah will be held captive together in the daughter of Babylon (this is revealed in verse 42). This is also more proof and consistency that the indigenous Americans must be of the House of Israel along with the Negroes, the House of Judah.
Note: As always, it is recommended to read at least the full chapter of Jeremiah 50 to understand the context around these statements
